Just got a heads up that Dopplereffekt do their first ever face to face interview and photoshoot in the next issue of The Wire. It will be in the October issue which is out in a couple of days I'm told. The journalist Derek Walmsley conducted the interview when they were over to play their London debut at Plex earlier this year. Hopefully this will be illuminating and it should help in exposing them to a largely sympathetic audience as well. Don't forget Dopplereffekt are announced to play live in Leipzig, Germany on Sat 17th October 2009 as well.

Sad and enigmatic news on the Black Replica front. They have just removed their two video's from YouTube along with all but one of their tracks from their MySpace player. What does it all mean, is this the end? Their accounts there are both still open for now though. Perhaps fittingly the track which is left is 'Spider Theory' which appears to contain the line, "That was all she said." If this does turn out to be how they leave us, then this is truly how to disappear! Pure theatre till the end. It was great while it lasted anyway, hopefully they will surprise us yet but I hope you got to see and hear their music while it was still readily available. ReplyDeletePeppo, you did so well. I'm amazed to finally see Heinrich on recent pictures. He gives so much and breaks down so many thoughts and concepts in a very transparent yet lucid way contrary to what he's known to, in the interviews we've all read. He's so down to earth.
ReplyDeleteWeird in a way to let go all these thoughts just before a concert in London that was supposed to close the live concert sequence they started in 2007. In the end it wasn't the last gig, hopefully, but it didn't bring up any new material.
I'm gonna try to get the Mouvement interview and translate it for all of you, dear deep sea dwellers.
